3 Fire Facts:
- Ritt Momney started as a band with Rutter and 3 of his high school friends. After his friends left the band to go on mission trips for the Mormon church, and his then-girlfriend went away to college, Rutter stayed back to pursue a solo career under the name. He released his first album in 2020, "Her and All of My Friends," in which he struggles with loss, loneliness, and his abandonment of Mormonism. "I was fully considering going on a mission, just so I didn’t have to tell anybody I didn’t believe in it."
- Rutter's stage name is a spoonerism of the U.S. politician, Mitt Romney, also from Utah. When asked about the name, Rutter said, "We were from Utah. We thought it would be funny." Mitt Romney in an interview stated, "[T]hey say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. In all seriousness, I wish Ritt Momney the best of luck in his music career and all his future endeavors.”
- "I almost am incapable of writing a happy song,” Rutter said on his music in a 2019 interview.
